“You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your
house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
The curriculum at MHCA is designed from a blend of both secular and Christian publishers,
following the Massachusetts Frameworks in order to provide a seamless transition for students moving between public and private school systems. Our instruction is always taught from a Christian worldview. All secular texts are reviewed and evaluated extensively by teachers and administration in order to provide a challenging education, while making sure not to give a mixed message. Students will receive a strong phonics foundation in the early grades, develop a high proficiency in writing and vocabulary development through middle school, and develop a number sense in the primary grades which will conclude with an Algebra I course in grade eight. All students participate in literature class, which may include “book circles”, reports, written summaries, or reviews. While our classrooms might appear traditional, small class sizes allow a teacher to push deeper and facilitate learning for both an individual and in a collaborative way. We consider our partnership with parents a vital part of the academic success of our students.
